Poplar Branch - 12/15/2010
The little town of Poplar Branch, situated about 20 minutes from Kitty Hawk, NC is a basic uneventful community populated by locals and new comers alike. There is a boating access for recreational and fishing boats for the general public. It is a relatively stable community as many are local retired citizens or family owned farms. An elementary school is located within this area as well as a local food market and several fast food choices. There really is not any special attraction except for Denni Anderson' Gave Digger Mud Truck business which includes a diner, Mud Park and a Diggers Dungeon which displays the monster trucks as well as offers monster truck rides at a price, which is not actually located within Poplar Branch. The real estate market has slowed due to the economy and home values have fallen. A new sound front development is failing to sell off lots in the planned community with only the model standing unsold. Crime in the area is low.  Read More
